Has Minecraft’s Google search interest already peaked?

You type “Minecraft” into Google. The game is still everywhere, so it can feel weird when someone says search interest already peaked. Google is not counting players. It scores relative search interest from 0 to 100. In my U.S. window, the high month was July 2013.

The busiest month in my U.S. numbers is July 2013

You type “Minecraft” into Google. The game is still everywhere, so a peaked search chart can feel wrong.

I wanted to know whether search interest had already peaked, so I pulled the highest monthly score for each year in my U.S. series. July 2013 is the all-time high in that window (score 100). The first small signal shows up in 2010, years before that peak.

Later years bounce. They do not stay parked at the bottom. 2025’s high month in this chart is 89, close to the old 2012 and 2014 highs. Search interest can get loud again without beating 2013, and without becoming a player count.

A 50 is not half the players

Use the chart to compare relative spikes: movie buzz cooling, a new mob how-to rising, a quiet year next to a loud one. Do not turn the score into “players online” or “Minecraft died.”

Google looks at searches, then stretches the busiest point in your window to 100. Change the window and the peak can move. That is why I locked a U.S. all-time series and named the peak month in that window: July 2013.
