How old is Minecraft?
Two clocks are still ticking. One starts with the full game on November 18, 2011. The other starts with the first public builds on May 17, 2009.

Same age in ten big countries
Pick which birthday the cards follow. The age stays the same; the local time is what changes.
Which birthday are you counting?
If a friend says Minecraft is “about 15 years old,” they are usually counting from November 18, 2011, the night the full Java game left beta.
If they started in browser Classic or the early public downloads, May 17, 2009 is the fairer start. Both clocks are honest. You just have to say which one you mean.
The long date story—and why people mix the two—is in When did Minecraft actually come out?
Why every country shows the same age
The full game shipped on one night. From that night to now is the same stretch of time in São Paulo, Tokyo, or New York.
The country cards are for the picture: you see the age next to what time it is there right now. These are ten big Minecraft countries I picked for the graphic — not a ranking of who plays the most today.

How I calculated it
Start instants (UTC midnight): Java 1.0 2011-11-18; first public 2009-05-17.
Age units borrow down calendar years → months → days → hours → minutes → seconds in the browser, and the display ticks every second.
Country panel: fixed list of ten large Minecraft markets with IANA time zones; local time via Intl.DateTimeFormat.
Not a Microsoft player census.
